I’ve been drawing cartoons, illustrations and other creative projects professionally since 1986. I majored in science in university, but drew comics and illustrations for the school paper, and gradually my creative side fused with my science side, exploring science concepts with words and pictures.
I’ve done work for companies and publications such as Manulife Financial/John Hancock, Ontario Power Generation, The Comedy Network, Canadian Space Agency, Today’s Parent, The Globe and Mail, Canadian Banker, Alternatives, The Medical Post, Pharmacy Post, Key Porter, Let’s Talk Science!, CoEd Communications, Scholastic Educational, Addison-Wesley, Gage, and Nelson Educational.
I’ve written or illustrated—and often both at the same time—10 books. When not at the drawing table, I’m a principal at the creative design firm Doodletronics. I live in Toronto with my wife, son and miniature Australian Shepherd, Neon.
Available for gigs and commissions! Toss me an e-mail at peter@illustrationist.ca, I’m on Mastodon at @DoodlePeter, on BlueSky at DoodlePeter and on Tumblr at peterlcook.
